ABTTreports that this year’s enlarged exhibition space was sold out with 10% more exhibitors compared with 2012. Visitor numbers grew by about 4% over the previous year, while 60% of visitors identified themselves as “theatre professionals”. Show director Roger Fox commented: “A common theme I keep hearing [from exhibitors] is that the visitors are exactly the sort of people they hoped to meet.” www.abtttheatreshow.org.uk

Digital content producers Digital Arts recently installed a Meyer Sound7.1 cinema monitoring system in its post- production theatre in its New York office. The system has already been used on such projects as director Woody Allen’s forthcoming film Blue Jasmine, and the recent HBO movie Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream. The Meyer system comprises three Acheron Studio screen channel loudspeakers, three X-800C cinema subwoofers, and 12 HMS-10 surround speakers. www.meyersound.com

The Odeon Theatre in Tremblay-en-France situated north-east of Paris has recently replaced its aging digital desk with an Innovason Eclipse GT digital console. This is one of the first sales/installations to have been handled by Sennheiser France since the distribution arm took over the brand at the end of 2012. “Apart from the sound quality, what I like best about the Eclipse is its configurability,” said head of sound at the Odeon Theatre, Sylvian Fievet.

installation WORLD Lab’s LUCIA leaves rack behind

Sweden-based amplifier specialist Lab.gruppen launched its install-dedicated

“decentralised” amplifier range, LUCIA, at InfoComm last month

AS FIRST revealed exclusively by PSNEurope’s sister-title Installation on the first day of the Florida trade event, LUCIA is Lab’s first product for small-scale AV applications – a whole new market for the company – and is the smallest amplifier it has ever produced. Lab says that the two-channel LUCIA (Localised Utility Compact Intelligent Amplification) is ideally suited to corporate boardrooms, classrooms and small lecture theatres, museum multimedia areas and retail units. It offers “high-quality audio without the complication and cost of a distributed system”. Designed for speed of install and configuration, LUCIA combines low-impedance amplifier electronics with

There are four models across two power configurations – 2 x 60W and 2 x 120W – each available with either 4-in, 4-out matrix- mixer and configurable DSP features (LUCIA 120/2M, LUCIA 240/2M) or in a basic two-in two-out configuration (LUCIA 120/2 and LUCIA 240/2). Klas Dalbjorn, Lab.gruppen’s

product research manager for install products, says: “LUCIA breaks new ground for Lab.gruppen, at the same time drawing on our knowledge and expertise in powerful, energy-

LUCIA features Lab.gruppen limiters and mastering-quality EQ and technologies from elsewhere in its parent TC Group, including processing algorithms evolved from TC Electronic’s System 6000 system. BELGIUM-BASED COMMUNITY supplier Hifi-Center Melis and installer Jan Geerts have completed the installation of a new ENTASYS sound system for Sint- Leonardus Church, located in Aartselaar on the southern outskirts of Antwerp. With its oldest parts dating back to 1792, and additions in 1861, Sint-Leonardus Church is a traditional building with a beautiful interior, but its dimensions and highly reflective surfaces presented difficult acoustic problems.

Working closely with Olivier Massart of Community’s Belgian distributor, M-Pro BeNeLux, Hifi-Center Melis and Geerts opted for two Community ENTASYS FR column line-array loudspeaker systems positioned on each side of the altar, augmented by two ultra-compact ENTASYS 206 loudspeakers located at the sides. n www.communitypro.com
