Ultra-slow-motion under the spotlight

By Melanie Dayasena-Lowe

I-MOVIX WITH TWO new products, I-MOVIX will display its X10 and X10+ ultra- motion systems and realtime de- flickering system for SprintCam Vvs HD and X10, combined with XT servers from EVS. The I-MOVIX X10 is said to be the

industry’s first live ultra-motion solution to deliver a continuous realtime output of up to 250fps at native HD resolution and image quality. Giving production teams continuous access to instant replays at up to 10 times the normal frame rate, X10 far outstrips the performance of existing continuous super-slow motion systems, which are restricted to three times slower than realtime, or 75fps. Developed in partnership with EVS,

the X10 system is used with an EVS XT3 production server under LSM control and provides a familiar user interface and controls that any broadcast crew can use immediately, without any special training. The X10+ system can also operate

on an extreme slow-motion mode at frame rates up to 2,600fps in 1080i50 or up to 5,600fps in 720p60 (100x slower than live action) with instant replay, making this new I-MOVIX solution the first fully integrated ultra- slow-motion system for live HD broadcast production. For the first time at NAB 2013,

I-MOVIX will show the capabilities of its new realtime de-flickering solution, designed for use with SprintCam Vvs HD and X10 systems. Claimed to be the world’s first realtime turnkey system it provides an efficient solution to the flickering problem encountered by any high-speed camera user. “Ultra-slow-motion is now firmly

established as a must-have production tool, and at NAB 2013 we are introducing two new products that will make it even more compelling. The X10 and X10+ realtime continuous systems, together with our revolutionary real-time deflicker system, make ultra-motion even more versatile and beautiful than ever before,” said Laurent Renard, I-MOVIX CEO.
