Aston 3D for BVE launch following an IBC preview [BRAINSTORM]
By Jake Young 3D realtime graphics and virtual set solutions provider Brainstorm Multimedia will launch the new Aston 3D at BVE 2013. Brainstorm will be present on stand, in partnership with Storm Broadcast, Brainstorm authorised reseller for UK and Ireland. Aston 3D, previewed at IBC 2012, is
Brainstorm’s next-generation graphics creation, CG and playout solution, that builds on the Aston heritage of reliability and simplicity to create a new graphics creation system specifically developed to operate at the heart of a design department. Based on Brainstorm’s eStudio engine, the on-air graphics and virtual studio render engine, Aston 3D is a complete graphics creation system aimed to be the centre of the design department fulfilling any broadcaster's needs.
File-based technology grows [ATG BROADCAST]
According to David Alexander,
Brainstorm’s commercial director, “After previewing the prototype of our new Aston 3D back at IBC where it was extremely well received, we are very pleased to launch it in the UK at BVE 2013. Aston is a well-known brand with a long history of success in the UK and Ireland, so we are both excited and keen to continue the Aston heritage of broadcast excellence built into the all new Aston3D”. With its vast feature set,
operational simplicity and 3D processing power, Aston 3D is purpose-built to enhance the creativity of designers and maximise output. It has been developed to fulfill all live broadcast content creation requirements from stand-alone OB solutions to complex, integrated system projects. J20
By Melanie Dayasena-Lowe Systems integrator ATG Broadcast will promote its full range of systems planning, design, installation, commissioning and post-installation support services. Representatives attending the show will include Christoffer Kay, Clive Northen, Dave Whitaker, Alastair MacDonald and Jonathan Baker.
"The message we take to BVE centres on the growing popularity of file-based technology from camera lens right through to domestic viewing screen," commented Clive Northen, chief operating officer. "The ATG Broadcast team pioneered the original adoption of file- based content management and is now ideally resourced to build on that long experience right across the production, archiving and transmission chain." In addition to its complete range of
systems integration services, the exhibit will include selected products from AmberFin, which ATG Broadcast represents as channel partner in the UK and Middle East. These will include the iCR-100-DPP transcoder and iCR-300- DPP media ingest workstation. Apart from their competitive price tags, these new products offer the same support packages and clear upgrade paths as any
other AmberFin iCR product. The iCR-300-DPP media ingest workstation and iCR-100-DPP transcoder are both designed specifically to create high-quality MXF-wrapped AVC-Intra or D10 assets compliant with the AMWA AS-11 specification and Digital Production Partnership guidelines from tape or line sources. BVE challenge thrown down product line.”
Cobalt Digital is to demonstrate its range of 3G/HD/SD-SDI conversion gear at BVE. Chris Shaw, executive vice president of sales & marketing, said that the company will have its latest loudness processing innovations alongside its new line of throw down boxes, established terminal gear, and control panels in a space shared with UK-based master distributor
Digi-Box.co.uk.
“With the recent appointment of Digi- Box as Cobalt Digital’s master distributor for the UK and Southern Ireland, it is vital that we support their efforts in this region,” stated Shaw. “BVE provides an ideal launching pad for this new partnership and offers the opportunity to demonstrate the latest additions to our
Cobalt’s timely loudness processing solutions will take centre stage at BVE. Using Linear Acoustic Aeromax technology, the LMNTS (Loudness Management for n-Transport Streams) offers an economic, consistent solution that’s easy to integrate. LMNTS performs automatic loudness processing across many transport streams making it ideal for MVPDs and MSOs where a large number of diverse programming sources must be simultaneously controlled. Cobalt’s SpotCheck, its audio loudness measurement and recorded data logging system, facilitates EBU R128 and CALM compliance. SpotCheck monitors an IP, ASI, or a transmitted over-the-air MPEG stream at the transmit (emission) encode point. F12
ByMelanie Dayasena-Lowe A mixture of its specialist products plus some essential 'broadcast plumbing' interface modules will be presented by Crystal Vision.
Products on show will include its latest chroma keyer yet, plus a new range of 3Gbps-compatible video delays, a flexible video synchroniser with Dolby decoder, and three new features for the company’s up and down converters. BVE 2013 will see the UK launch of Crystal Vision's new realtime chroma keyer, Safire 3, which uses an extremely sophisticated algorithm, giving excellent results with minimal sensitivity to camera noise. New key processing features include blacks, whites and greys reject for realistic shadows and key noise reduction through the application of various filters.
Unveiled for the first time will be another of Crystal Vision's specialist products: the ViViD 3G variable video delay available in four versions to suit all applications and ideal for matching any system delays, from virtual studio graphics to MPEG encoders and
