TVBEurope 47 BVE London KVM experience comes to London
[GUNTERMANN & DRUNCK] By Fergal Ringrose
The new ControlCenter-Digital system supports the concept of flexibility. A state of the art KVM matrix must be able to quickly adapt to the individual needs of different situations.
In addition to classical KVM signals, the ControlCenter-Digital system extends and switches high-speed USB 2.0, RS232 and bidirectional audio. When working on different computers, users need to be able to include different video sources and at least one full HD resolution. Further video types such as VGA, DVI single and dual link as well as
Streaming systems, scan converters, I/Os and multiviewers are showcased

By Jake Young At BVE 2013, Matrox Video Products Group will demonstrate multi-channel streaming systems, scan converters, I/O devices and multiviewers. Matrox VS4 is a quad HD capture and ISO recording card for use with Telestream Wirecast for Windows live streaming production software. In a single PCIe slot, Matrox VS4
provides up to four independent HD inputs with up to eight embedded audio channels per source. Matrox Convert DVI Plus is an HD-
SDI scan converter that lets broadcasters incorporate content from computers, iPads and iPhones into news programmes. The solution is ideal for creating broadcast-quality video from computer applications running on Mac computers or PCs such as Skype, YouTube, Google Earth and FaceTime. Matrox MXO2 LE MAX provides
broadcast-quality video and audio input and output for editing applications including Adobe CS6 Production Premium, Apple Final Cut Pro X and the new Avid Media Composer 6.5. It also turbocharges H.264 encoding for deliveries to the web, mobile devices and Blu-ray. In addition, Matrox MXO2 LE MAX offers a portable capture and ISO recording solution for Telestream Wirecast for Windows enabling users to stream live events from anywhere there is an internet connection. Matrox MicroQuad is a four-
channel SDI-to-HDMI multiviewer for 3G/HD/SD. It lets broadcasters and A/V professionals use an HDMI display to view up to four SDI video signals and show or hide labels and VU meters. It is ideal for OB vans, on-set productions and live events. F21
DisplayPort and multi video applications extend G&D’s product range.
It’s also important that different types of cables can be used together. Within an office building CAT cables transmit distances up to 300 metres between
computers and users. But for bridging distances up to several kilometres fibre optics are the only option.
All of G&D’s matrix switches can be cascaded to up to three levels. Now if more computers need to be connected, the
system can be expanded with another matrix switch and further pieces of hardware. When fully cascaded, the ControlCenter-Digital offers over 4,000 ports to connect computers or user modules. This is a size that should claim
