OKNO TV (UK), a broadcast systems integrator, has appointed three key personnel. Managing Director JON FLAY is joined by Sales and Marketing Director ALEX COLLINS and Head of Engineering CHRIS BRANNAN. Flay’s previous roles include director at Advanced Media Centre (AMC) and general manager of Broadcast Networks. Collins joins the OKNO TV (UK) team after four years at Evertz, where he held the position of regional sales manager. Brannan has held solutions architect positions at Evertz and Pharos Communications.


Wise new RTS CEO


The Royal Television Society (RTS) has hired THERESA WISE as CEO, starting in March. She brings 25 years experience working across the television, broader media and technology sectors. At The Walt Disney Company, she was senior vice president, Corporate Strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, Wise led TWDC’s evaluation and execution of acquisition transactions in the EMEA region across all of the Walt Disney Company businesses.

Kim Reed Perell, CEO of Adconion Direct, has joined the company’s board of directors. Perell currently oversees Adconion Direct’s multi-channel digital distribution platform spanning display, mobile, email, and social media across the globe.


Systems integrator ATG Broadcast has made two appointments to its board. Christoffer Kay, director and COO of parent company Dan Technologies joins as managing director. Former Pro-Bel MD Graham Pitmanis appointed non-executive chairman.


Daniel Danker, general manager of programmes and on demand at the BBC’s Future Media division, has joined BBC Studios and Post Production as a non-executive board member. He is responsible for the strategy and delivery

of BBC’s iPlayer, Radio & Music and Red Button products. Broadcast Pix has hired Steve Ellis as its president and CEO. He will also be a member of the company’s board of directors. Broadcast Pix Co-founder and CEO,Ken Swanton, will remain actively involved with the company and on the board of directors. Stephen Stewarthas started as director of business development for Deluxe Media Technologies. Most recently Stewart was responsible for developing business with key strategic accounts at Red Bee Media, including Channel 4 and Japanese state broadcaster NHK.


DK-Technologies has appointed Uffe Kjems Hansen to the position of product marketing director. He joins from digital processing manufacturer

TC Electronic, where he held a number of positions over a 17-year period. Lieven Vermaeleis stepping down as director of technology and innovation at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) after six years of service. Vermaele will leave his post in summer 2013 to return to his hometown Ghent in Belgium, to be CEO of tech start-up CandIT-Media. Simon Baxhas resigned as Encompass Digital Media CEO and board member. Ed Horowitz, early board member and investor, will join Bill Tillson, the company’s current president, COO and co-founder, in establishing the Encompass office of the CEO.

HHB Communications has hired Sean Evansto its Professional Audio Sales department. Evans gained experience working in several recording studios as a freelance audio engineer. Levira’s Media Services Division has a new member, Raul Aav, who is responsible for launching and developing new projects and for technical support for media services.
