Crestron now controls the LED
Best known for its work in control solutions for both the residential and commercial AV markets, Crestron launched its first LED lighting range earlier this year. The CLED range comprises a general-purpose downlight, an array of discreet multifunctional recessed spotlights, a surface-mounted spot option and a stainless steel uplight. The CLED family results from “a considerable period” of R&D, concentrating on what the company knows best – control. Crestron says that it has perfected the dimming behaviour of an LED light source. When they are
combined with Crestron control equipment, CLED luminaires can be dimmed from 1-100% – replicating the smooth dimming curve of halogen lamps.
The LED luminaires also offer colour }
temperature and lumen output comparable to that of halogen, with a 70,000-hour lamp that the company says exceeds most comparable low- energy fittings’ lifetimes. Crestron also offers a five-year
warranty on its luminaires and two years on its power supply unit.

{ Robe turns heads with DL Series
The Robin DL Series, which is Robe’s first high-powered LED-based moving head range, features three models: the Spot (pictured), Wash and Profile fixtures. These are the first RGBW LED
moving heads on the market, with Robe claiming to have set a new standard in the industry thanks to the company’s dedication to creating ‘smaller-lighter-brighter’ and more eco-friendly products. Based on Robe’s Robin series
platform, the small and lightweight Robin DL Series (the 22kg DLS Profile, 20.8kg DLX Spot and 20.5kg DLF Wash) incorporates RGBW colour mixing and low power consumption. The DLF Wash features advanced
software including CMY colour mixing (in addition to the RGBW mixing), a set of calibrated whites, CTO, tungsten lamp emulation (amber shift) and more. Lighting designers can create solutions using different products from the series. The DLS and DLF versions incorporate a fast and precise framing shutter system – making them suitable for theatre and
}
multipurpose venue installations. Highly authentic tungsten emulation features – pre-programmed in the DL Series – add to the fixtures’ appeal in theatrical-style lighting applications. Another benefit of the Robin DL luminaire range is that it eliminates any shadowing usually associated with an LED light source. Robe says customers can expect a
reliable fixture and reduced long-term maintenance costs. This promise is backed up by a three-year or 20,000- hour warranty on the light source.
