WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A MANUFACTURER LOOKING TO ENTER THE PORTUGUESE AV INSTALLATION MARKET?

‘Contact and make deals with major Portuguese distributors, or better, establish a new distribution company, based on good customer relations.’

‘Distributors are closed or bankrupt; the best bet is to use a sales rep, invoicing through some other EU country (either a company office, importing to the EU or a distributor).’

‘Take into consideration that without a major national event that may offer massive investment opportunities, this is a market driven by small enterprises and projects.’

… AND TO AN INTEGRATOR LOOKING TO ENTER THE MARKET?

‘Looking forward, looking to regulations and standards, push up the market to great value and safer levels.’

‘To bring along psychic medication.’ DESIRED CHANGES

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT THE WAY THE PORTUGUESE INSTALLATION MARKET WORKS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

‘There's no real [technical] competence in evaluating proposals, therefore usually it goes towards the lower priced (unless some scheme exists with one of the tenders).’

‘No distribution company should also sell and install to the end user – at least, a fully separate company, with its own VAT number should exist for those sales.’
