Smart Building Conference comes to City of London
THE Smart Building Conference is to make its return next month. Event owners CEDIA and InfoComm have announced that the conference will be held on 15 October at Dexter House, a state-of-the-art conference facility located in the heart of the City of London. The new event follows
nearly nine months after the inaugural Smart Building Conference at ISE 2013 in Amsterdam, which drew over 150 professional delegates. Commenting on the event’s content, Mike Blackman, managing director, Integrated Systems Events, said: “The phrase ‘Smart Building’ means a lot of different things to different people. Our job is to bring these various interpretations together so that delegates come away

www.installation-international.com/residential WORLD High-end projector sales up
WORLDWIDE sales of high-end projectors rose by 6% in the first half of 2013 compared with the corresponding period last year, according to market information company PMA Research. This sector, defined as projectors with a
brightness of 4,000 lumens or more, generated well in excess of $1 billion during the period. Outside digital cinema,
projector manufacturers continued to expand their product lines to meet growing demand in developing countries and the shift to
higher resolution projectors in advanced economies. The digital cinema market
reached a significant milestone in the first half of 2013 as cumulative shipments topped 100,000 on a worldwide basis. However, sales were lower again on a year-on-year basis as digitisation rates are already high in many advanced economies. Some of the downturn was offset by continued growth in China, India, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa.
