BARTOW AREA
The Bartow Area Board carried on the Thanksgiving tradition of organizing and donating baskets, which include the many ingredients necessary to make a traditional Thanksgiving feast to families in need this year. The Board was able to provide 118 families with baskets full of food, exceeding its goal of 115 baskets! The Board is thankful for all members and affiliates who participated, and especially grateful to Phoenix Air for their donation towards the basket drive again this year. A special thanks goes out to the Community Service Committee for all of their hard work. We are all blessed because together, we made a difference in someone else’s life.

GOLDEN ISLES
GIAR’s Community Relations Committee has worked hard this year to raise money via donations and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to its annual “Shop With A REALTOR” event. The committee raised enough funds to take 52 children back-to-school shopping at WalMart on August 18, 2012. The children were selected by the school counselors based on need. This was an amazing event, and GIAR and the Community Relations Committee are proud to be part of “Making a Difference in Our Community,” which is the Community Relations Committee’s motto.

NAMAR
The Northeast Atlanta Metro Association (NAMAR) celebrated Member Appreciation Day on Friday, November 2, 2012. Over 100 REALTOR and Affiliate members enjoyed the picture perfect Fall day. Peter Pasternak from “Flip This House” started the day off with a great presentation followed by recognition of all NAMAR’s 2012 Partner and Affiliates. Three $100 cash drawings were held courtesy of Georgia MLS, and other prizes were given away as well. Representatives from Brand Mortgage cooked up burgers and hotdogs for all to enjoy. Their tailgating trailer was a big hit and everyone had a great time. NAMAR appreciates its members!
