LuxLive Review Forge Europa

Once again LuxLive delivered an exciting and innovative event for the lighting industry. Forge Europa exhibited for the second year running: “Our focus for LuxLive 2012 was to reinforce the message of maximising performance and optimising costs, whilst retaining the highest standards of both product quality and energy efficiency,” says Ian Dixon, Sales Manager at Forge Europa. “We were keen to demonstrate this through the launch of our new low cost range of standard LED light engines, and developments to our energy saving LED lamps range. Forge Europa is committed to offering our customers great value and performance. We’re delighted with the response and feedback”. www.forge-europa.co.uk

LuxLive Photometric Testing Toshiba

Toshiba had an incredible time at this year’s LuxLive, and their stand was constantly bustling with activity. On the stand the team showed a number of new products including the GU10 7.1W 355Lm > 50W Dimmable and E-CORE 3000/6000 range, which attracted a great deal of interest from visitors. The team had their experience finished off nicely with success for their E-Core candles, which won the ‘Light Source Innovation of the Year’ Award at the Lux Awards evening. The E-Core fixtures were recently used at Brompton Barracks, as pictured. www.toshiba.co.uk/lighting

Photometric Testing launched their 2013 training courses at LuxLive. The company now offers one-day courses in two areas of lighting. The original Photometry and Light Measurement Course helps those developing more energy efficient lighting to understand LED and lighting specifications. For 2013, a second course is being introduced that focuses on the Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lighting. This course provides an understanding of BS EN 62471 and the retinal and skin hazards associated with lighting products. Delegates will also benefit from a practical session, which will teach them how to make measurements of lamps and calculate the risk group as defined in EN 62471. www.photometrictesting.co.uk

IST Ltd

IST’s loveable bunnies made a welcome return to LuxLive this year, but the team believes that the stand-out product amongst the newly launched Serenity® Lighting LED lighting fixtures and iDrive® LED drivers was the Serenity® Quadrum 600mm x 600mm recessed LED ceiling tile. Visitors stopped in their tracks, visibly impressed by the homogeneity of the light output, which, when coupled with the smooth dimming of the iDrive® DALI+ LED driver and attractive price point, clearly distinguished IST’s panel as a product to keep an eye on. Watch out in 2013 for IST's ethernet-enabled colour tunable lighting system. www.istl.com
