Bright idea from HTS
HTS Spares’ line-up of plant accessories includes the Radial Centaur range of LED flashing beacons which, the company says, can bring several benefits. The lamps have a guaranteed life of 10,000 hours, which can lower the number of site callouts for bulb replacement. HTS says that, as well as reducing costs and workshop time, use of the lamps can enhance Health & Safety, particularly on large plant, since fitters do not have to climb so frequently on to machines to fit new units.

Ditch Witch has introduced two new compact tool carriers to its SK line-up, in the shape of the SK750 and SK755, which replace the SK650 model. A choice of 25 or 32.8hp diesel engines
is available, and both machines can accept more than 70 attachments for performing multiple jobs on the same site, giving greater productivity. The SK models offer up to 364kg of lift capacity, 1039kg tipping capability and 2.06m lift height. Manoeuvrability has been improved with 30% greater central ground clearance and a high-drive track system featuring bolt-on sprockets, wide track rollers and replaceable spindles. This is designed to make it easy to convert from a narrow to wide track stance, and also allows operators to rotate tracks and achieve up to 40% longer track life, according to the manufacturer.

As discussed in the introductory article to our Market Report, JCB sees considerable potential for its compact skid steer and track loaders. The manufacturer’s most recent introductions are the 135 and 155 skid steers and the 150T track loaders, which all incorporate a radial lift version of the JCB Powerboom single-sided lift arm, designed for maximum digging capability and reach.
The machines have 46% larger cabs than their
predecessors and are designed for fuel efficiency, low noise, good visibility and easy servicing. The 135 and 155 models weigh 2752kg and 2844kg respectively, and the 150T is a 3022kg machine. Creep speed is standard on all three, allowing the operator to precisely control travel speed at full power for the operation of high flow attachments such as planers, trenchers and for other slow moving applications.
