Being my family’s business, I didn’t want to take any short cuts.” For many people, the mere notion of working alongside one’s father in a business environment is the stuff of nightmares, but Lana has nothing but praise for her the man who has helped her to fl ourish in the world of fashion. “I love working with him!” She admits, “He has been a fantastic mentor to me and shown me the way in business. I have absorbed everything he has taught me and I am still learning. We have a great relationship, which is why I think it works.” Perhaps it is the strength of the family that has really propelled Ariella into the limelight and helped them to steal the hearts of countless women, Leona Lewis and Holly Willoughby to name but a few. T is is clear in the way that Lana talks about her proudest moment as a team eff ort rather than as a personal triumph. “T e launch of our fi rst Ariella Couture collection was a moment I will never forget,” she recalls fondly. “I felt extremely proud to see our collection in full force on the catwalk and the fantastic response it received. T ere is something heart-warming about seeing all your eff orts and dreams come to life on the runway.” But the runway is not the only platform on which Ariella’s stunning designs have
wowed the world. Ariella’s designers have also provided beautiful outfi ts for a number of artists and musicians in the past. Discussing these occasions, Lana says, “We have already had the pleasure of designing an onstage costume for Kimberly Wyatt of the Pussycat Dolls for her performance of ‘Got to Dance’ and again for Leona Lewis where she wore a pink sequin jacket for a concert in Dubai, both of which were great fun and a change from our normal styling.” Ariella Couture’s ‘normal’ styling involves an ethos of exclusivity, originality and femininity and dresses are created with fashion-conscious women in mind.
