Sector urged to respond to Apprenticeship review
Habia is advising the hair and beauty sector to make sure it has its voice heard in the most comprehensive review ofApprenticeships since their introduction in the 1990s.
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for Education (DfE) have appointed Doug Richard, serial entrepreneur and early investor, to lead an independent review into the future ofApprenticeships.
The closing date for responses is 7th September. Doug Richard is expected to report on his findings and recommendations in the Autumn.
Andrew Darby, Habia Deputy CEO, says: “The outcome of this review may very well change the wayApprenticeships in England are developed and delivered, so it’s really important that our sector makes its views known.Apprenticeships are likely to be at the centre of training and vocational learning in England over the next decade and more, so it is not exaggerating to say that this review could influence education policy for a generation to come.”
