alkTalk Business’ decision to direct hefty resources into building a state of
the art data centre is typical of its strategy to drive the market for hosted comms and data solutions. According to Charles Bligh, Managing Director, the channel must now bow to market reality because providing piecemeal solutions is no longer an option. “We are seeing explosive growth in data solutions,” he commented. “Customers are moving away from buying point products towards complete solutions. The telco partnered with Ark Continuity, a provider of high integrity modular data centres, to provide the final piece in its hosted strategy at the Spring Park campus in Corsham. Although standing as a citadel for data and technological brilliance, TalkTalk Business’ new state of the art data centre was quickly snapped into place as if made from blocks of lego. Dave Mullender, Head of Network Services at TalkTalk Business, said that the modular design is crucial to the company’s growth strategy. “We had to locate a scalable facility with significant power and space to expand,” he explained. “The Spring Park campus environment enables us to scale out our advanced data centre rather than build new ones.”
Mullender also noted that Ark’s data centres respond to the legacy
