Avidity IP appoints Scott Roberts as ETC head


UK-based law firm Avidity IP has appointed Scott Roberts to lead its electronics, telecoms and computer science team.

Roberts joins from IBM, where he was responsible for providing


guidance on European patentability issues— particularly concerning computer soſtware and business method inventions.


He has previously consulted on mergers and acquisitions, copyright and IP policy. He has particular experience in IP procurement and patent oppositions.

Frenchman joins Olswang’s European IP team


French IP lawyer Jean-Frédéric Gaultier has joined Olswang LLP and will work in its European team.

Te former Paul Hastings LLP partner will work in Foley’s


IT and outsourcing practice, but will advise on IP matters too. He specialises in patents, trademarks, copyright and Internet.
