Reply No.16 Makita Brushless Motor Increases Motor
Productivity For 3kg Hammer • More run time from motor efficiency • Impact energy raised to 2.4 joules • 24mm in concrete with up to 4,700bpm The new Makita BHR242 and BHR243 three-mode rotary hammer drill has increased performance in all important
areas. These new machines are fitted with the Makita developed high-efficiency brushless DC motor. Not only is this smart motor smaller and lighter it reduces the loss of motor power through friction by 30% which delivers increased run-time, improved impact power, more blows per minute and at the same time reduces maintenance. The brushless DC motor generates less heat which enables longer periods of safe, continuous operation. The new Makita BHR242 3-mode SDS-plus rotary hammer drill will punch a 24mm hole into concrete, can deliver up to 4,700 blows per minute and generates 2.4 joules of impact energy. The quick-change chuck facility is available on the BHR243 version and the 3-mode control is conveniently positioned on the body side. This rugged-duty rotary hammer provides increased operator protection. The tool body is separated at the foot of the
handle into two housings which are joined by vibration absorbing rubber links. In addition the 18v Li-ion battery is carried in the lower section of the body and the “floating” joint removes the risk of vibration damaging terminal contacts and possible battery failure. This new Makita 3kg rotary hammer is a tough, powerful and reliable tool ideally suited to rugged operations on
construction sites where the health risks from dust are being actively addressed by the whole industry. Makita has introduced powered dust extraction units to fit the brand new BHR242 and BHR243 models.
