The AU-150 soprano ukulele features mahogany top, back and sides, geared pegs, nato neck, rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge and a Mahogany Matte finish. It produces a warm and mellow sound. The entry- level AM20 mandolin includes a spruce top, mahogany neck, back and sides, rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, and chrome hardware. It retails at £139. Aria’s banjo offering starts with the SB10 (£199), featuring a mahogany neck and resonator, rosewood bridge and fingerboard and 22 frets. It’s available in five-string and tenor variations. The easy-to-play AH- 1020 folk blues harmonica provides all 12 keys, ten holes, 20 reeds and comes with a plastic case.
Ashton
Starting with the very colourful UKE100 range (pictured), Ashton offers a variety of different ukulele models for players of all ability levels. Available in seven different colours, the Hawaiian style UKE100 models come with geared machine heads and a colour matched bag. With a choice of either mango (UKE200MA) or mahogany (UKE200SP) back and sides, the Ashton UKE200 Soprano features a rosewood fingerboard and bridge and nickel chrome hardware. Then there’s the Concert-style UKE500KOA, which is equipped with solid koa back and sides.
Stones Music
Stones Music has now begun handling distribution for RISA ukuleles in the UK. Made in Germany, the brand is best known for its range of electric ukes, which start at £169. Also available from Stones, Uluru ukes feature all-solid timber construction, Aquila Nylgut strings and come with a gigbag or hard case, depending on the model. Finally, the Wolfelele self-build ukulele kit is also available from the supplier. Designed by renowned luthier Wolfgang Kater, the product allows the user to put together their very own playable uke by following a step-by-step guide.

ALSO AVAILABLE There are three models in Freshman’s new high-end ukulele range. The FU1 has a solid mahogany top, back and sides with a nato neck and is available in soprano and concert. The FU2 has a dao top, back and sides with a nato neck and comes in three sizes – Soprano, Concert and Tenor. Lastly, the FU3 has a koa top, back and sides with nato neck, but also comes with a Fishman KUL-201 pickup system.
