National championship sites selected


USA Volleyball announced upcoming national championship site selections at its Annual Meetings in Salt Lake City on May 23 with Dallas, Minneapolis, Louisville and Phoenix being chosen.


The City of Dallas will host the 2013 GJNC at the Dallas Convention Center. The event, hosted by the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be played between June 28 and July 5.


“Dallas has always been a very volleyball friendly location,” USA Volleyball Senior Director Tom Pingel said. “We know that our return to the Metroplex with the GJNC will be a great event.”


The City of Minneapolis will host the 2014 GJNC at the Minneapolis Conven- tion Center. The event, hosted by the North Country Region, will be played between June 25 and July 2.


“Minneapolis has proven to be a wonder- ful host city for our National Events,” Pingel said. “We know this will continue when the GJNC returns in 2014.”


Meanwhile, Reno was selected to host the 34th USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships (BJNC) in 2013. The tourna- ment, hosted by the Northern California Volleyball Association, will take place at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center from June 28 to July 5. “We look forward to bringing the BJNC back to Reno and the western part of the United States,” USA Volleyball Senior Direc- tor Tom Pingel said. “The folks in Reno and the NCVA have always been good partners in hosting our National Championships and we
