Cody Caldwell (Newport Beach, Calif.)


Cody Caldwell, an outside hitter who just fi nished his freshman year at Loyola University-Chi- cago, was tabbed to the 2012 U.S. Men’s Junior National Vol- leyball Training Team. In his freshman year, he fi nished third in scoring for Loyola. Caldwell was on the U.S. Boys’ Youth National Volleyball Team last summer that com- peted in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ Youth World Championship. He


earned most valuable player for the second year in a row at the 2011 USAV Boys’ Junior National Championships after leading Balboa Bay 18 Quiksilver to the 18 Open title.


Kaira Lujan (Santa Fe, New Mexico)


Kaira Lujan, a middle blocker for New Mexico Juniors 18 Black under the coaching of Ben Wallis, was selected to the U.S. Women’s Junior National Volleyball Training Team. Last summer she helped the U.S. Girls’ A2 White Team to fi rst place in the silver division at the 2011 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.


Following her senior season at Albuquerque Academy, Lujan was named PrepVolleyball. com Senior Ace No. 66. She was selected all-Metro fi rst team following the 2011 season.


Taylor Tashima (Wilmette, Ill.) Taylor Tashima, a setter for Wildcat Juniors, has been named to the 2012 U.S. Girls’ Youth National Volleyball Team that will com- pete in the NORCE- CA Girls’ Youth Continental Cham- pionship. She paced the U.S. Girls’ Select A1 Blue Team to the bronze medal in the 2011 USA Volleyball High Performance Championship Youth International Divi- sion. Tashima was selected as a 2011


Soph 79 Highest Honorable Mention after be- ing named to the All-Central Suburban League Team with New Trier High School.

Michelle Strizak (Cincinnati, Ohio)


Michelle Strizak, an outside hitter for Cincy Classics 17 Red that has qualifi ed for the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships in the National Division, was named to the 2012 U.S. Women’s Junior National Vol- leyball Training Team. She earned fi rst- team all-state honors with Mount Notre


Dame High School as a junior last fall after leading her team to the Ohio High School Division I state championship. Strizak was selected as a top 5 fi nalist for Junior of the Year by PrepVolleyball.com and a fi nalist for Player of the Year. She has provided her college verbal commitment to the Univer- sity of Illinois.


Kelsey Humphreys (Newport Beach, Calif.) Kelsey Humphreys, a setter on the Laguna Beach MS 18-1 Volleyball Club under coach Michael Soyular that has qualifi ed for the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships in the 18 Open Division, was chosen to the 2012 U.S. Women’s Junior National Volleyball Training Team. This past spring she helped Laguna Beach to silver at the Fiesta Classic, third at the Las Vegas Classic and fi fth at the SCVA Qualifi er. As a ju- nior last fall, Humphreys led Corona del Mar High School to the Pacifi c


Coast League title while being named all-league fi rst-team and all-CIF.


Simone Lee


(Menomonee Falls, Wis.) Simone Lee, an outside hitter with Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold, was named to the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Team that will compete in the NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Champion-


ship. Last summer she led the U.S. Girls’ Se- lect A1 Red Team at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships as it played in the Women’s International Junior Division. Lee has received consecutive AAU All-Ameri- can awards in the 14 Open and 15 Open divi- sions. She has committed verbally to Penn State University after earning second-team Wisconsin All-State honors.


Erik Sikes


(Coto de Caza, Calif.) Erik Sikes, a libero for Balboa Bay VC, earned a spot on the 12-player U.S. Boys’ Youth Na- tional Volleyball Team that will compete in the NORCECA Boys’ Continental Champion- ship July 2-7 in Tijuana, Mexico. He set the Santa Margarita Catho- lic High School single season record for digs and serve receive percentage in 2012. Sikes helped the Balboa Bay VC 16s to the 2011 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Champi- onship gold medal and later played on the U.S. Boys’ Select A1 Red Team in the USAV High Performance International Youth Division.


Lee Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.)


Lee Smith, an outside hitter for Beaver Valley Premier 16s, was named to the 12-player U.S. Boys’ Youth National Volleyball Team that will compete in the NORCECA Boys’ Continental Cham- pionship July 2-7 in Tijuana, Mexico. He helped his club to the OVR Champion- ships title in February. Smith led the Ohio Valley Region High Performance Team to second place in the National Division at


both the 2010 and 2011 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.
