New European office for Prism Sound

PRISM SOUND has opened a European sales and distribution office in Munich, Germany, covering the territories of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The office will handle all test and measurement, music recording and production products. Bernard Nocker, former sales manager for Prism Sound products at DIME Medientechnik GmbH, has been appointed to head the Munich office.

relationships with our key customers and to be more responsive to local market conditions,” said Graham Boswell, sales director, Prism Sound. Going forward, DIME (Prism


Sound’s previous distributor) will complete only pre-existing orders. All new orders will be handled by Prism Sound. Warranty and service for all products formerly sold by DIME or by its predecessor SDI will be handled by Prism Sound through the Munich office. Sales of the SADiE product line will continue to be handled by For-Tune GmbH. www.prismsound.com

LIGHTSHIP95, MILOCO’S recording studio on a boat moored in the London Docks, has upgraded its equipment list. Owner and engineer Ben Phillips has added two AEA TRPs and two Helios Type 69 mic pres, as well as two compressors: a Purple Audio Action 1176 and a Standard Audio Level-Or. The studio’s microphone collection has also been enhanced with a Neumann U 47 Fet, Brauner Valvet X, two Royer 121s, two Neumann KM184s, Sennheiser E902 and E906, and two Gefell MV692s with UM70 capsules. “I wanted to know what real engineers, working day-to-day in real studios were looking for,” said Phillips. “I needed microphones and preamps that would be versatile, but at the same time

each having an identifiable purpose, getting used in every session, not just big names and show pieces that spend half their life in their fancy boxes.” In other Miloco news, the studio group has purchased two new Audient ASP4816 Analogue Recording Consoles for two of its writing studios: the Bridge in London SE1, and The Summerhouse residential writing studio on Osea Island. www.lightship95.com
