Oonagh meets... Fashion stylist Cathy O’Connor Cathy O’Connor is one of Ireland's most in-demand stylists.

Her expert and personalised advice can teach anyone how to dress for their body shape and colouring. Oonagh Clarke met her to discuss facials, pedicures and Botox®

Oonagh: Helping people to look good is part of your job, do you feel an extra pressure to look good all the time yourself?

Cathy: Yes and no! When I'm appearing on television or presenting a Style Workshop, I do make an effort and enjoy the 'dress up' part of my job. Having said that, most of my time is spent dashing around town selecting and collecting clothes for shoots, so you might spot me in very unglamorous flat shoes and comfortable clothes.

Oonagh: Do you have a beauty regime?

Cathy: How I long to be one of those women who has regular facials! Recently I was working at the fabulous Kelly's Hotel in Rosslare, and squeezed in a visit to their Deluxe Spa and had an ESPA facial, which was wonderful.

When it comes to my hair, I go to everyone's favourite hairdresser, Michael Doyle in Peter Mark and I hit the jackpot finding the best colourist out there - Lorraine Browne.

Oonagh: Do you have any particular beauty problems or concerns?

Cathy: Oh, far too many to list!

Oonagh: Do you have treatments in the salon?

Cathy: I rarely have treatments in salons but as it's almost time to dust down my sandals, I'll be heading to Pinkie in Dun Laoghaire for one of

their legendary pedicures. The best pedicure I've ever had!

Oonagh: How important do you believe beauty products are to complete a styled look?

Cathy: Beauty products that really work for you are vital (well, they are for me!). I'm lucky enough to frequently work with the very talented Make-up Artist Derrick Carberry, and have learnt a few tricks from him. The final finishing touch is perfume - my current favourite is Bataille De Fleurs by Cloon Keen Atelier.

Oonagh: Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery or Botox®

?

Cathy: Not only have I considered it, I've done it! I opted to have Botox®

my forehead recently, not because I have a particularly lined forehead but

in

because my eyelids were becoming hooded (ah, the joys of ageing!).

I did a lot of research in terms of the best clinic to go to and chose Renew Clinic on Hatch Street in Dublin. I was delighted with the result. I didn't look like I had had Botox®

, but

received many a compliment as to looking 'fresh faced' and my eyelids have retreated - hurray!

Oonagh: Any beauty mistakes you will admit to?

Cathy: Pretty much anytime I use fake tan!

Oonagh: Do you think Irish women are beautiful in general?

Cathy: I know it's a cliché but I truly believe that beauty comes from within, and that particular beauty is a
