Pyroguard Delivers Perfect Fire Glass Solution for Farnley Park Academy

igh performance Pyroguard EI30 from CGI International, has been specified as the exclusive fire glass solution for a series of full height glazed panels at the new Farnley Park Academy in Leeds. The six 1.2 x 2.7m panels have been installed throughout the school building following a major BSF construction project.
CGI International’s Pyroguard 15mm EI30 product was specified by joinery contractor, SHN Joinery as the only fire glass solution that would satisfy the architectural design requirements whilst also achieving essential fire safety and acoustic compliance. Pyroguard EI30
benefits from a 30 minute fire rating, providing insulation against gas, heat and flames with an impact classification of 1B1. Importantly for the school environment, the fire-resistant glass also delivers noise reduction of up to 38dB. To maximise natural light and create a division between spaces, the Pyroguard panels were fitted throughout the school, from the main reception atrium through to classroom areas. Keith Lister, SNH Joinery, explains: “To manufacture and install a glazed panel of this size, we had to ensure that the glass product would fulfil the architect’s vision whilst also demonstrating the essential test evidence for fire rating and acoustics. “Through our existing relationship with CGI International, we were confident that its Pyroguard range could provide us with a competitive and robust fire glass solution.”
Due to the substantial weight of the full height panels, SHN Joinery had to be on-site for two weeks to complete the installation, with each individual full height panel requiring six joiners’ technical expertise.
New Recycling Bin Oozes Style F

Finbins Bermuda bins are

FinBin Bermuda bins have pivoted bag frames and locking hinged lids. They also have a special lid construction, the shape of which smothers flames by curtailing supply of oxygen. The new Quad version has front opening doors to reduce manual

lifting and can sport an optional poster frame for advertising and commercial sponsorship.

In total 65m² of Pyroguard EI30 glass was fitted across the project, including an additional 50 door-side screens positioned by the classrooms.
