NEMEX – 30 YEARS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE BATTLE TO SAVE ENERGY

Large or small, public or private, saving energy is a challenge all organisations face – and there’s no better place to find the latest ways to make a change for the better than at NEMEX, the National Energy Management Exhibition.

T

he 2012 show will bring together energy executives and decision makers from a wide range of

industries to find out more about the latest advances in renewable energy products, energy management services and energy efficient technologies.

In the last two years the UK’s leading event for energy management has seen a 37 per cent rise in visitors and it will be offering even more in 2012 as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

In addition to being a great place to do business, when The National Energy Management Exhibition (NEMEX) returns to the NEC Birmingham from May 22-24, it will unveil a new, second conference theatre, transforming the ideas and advice available at this free-to-visit event. It adds up to a winning combination for exhibitors and visitors alike, united in the aim of meeting the UK’s strict targets to reduce CO2

emissions by 80% by 2050

and to obtain 15% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020. NEMEX attracts a wide-ranging audience from large multinationals and SMEs, to senior individuals from the public sector, making it the ideal place for businesses to launch new products and find new customers.

Among the visitors to NEMEX 2011 was Gareth Williams, Energy Solutions Manager at Northern Rail. He said: “I thought this year was excellent, it's getting better and

better. A must-attend event on the annual calendar for any

environmental/energy professional.” This sentiment was echoed by exhibitor

Paul Greenwood, Managing Director of LEDi Solutions. He said: “The show delivered exactly the customer base and decision makers that we wanted to engage with. We walked away with over 230 very hot prospects and have signed up for next year.”

Who will be there? Big names on the list for 2012 include

INENCO, consultants specialising in energy management, sustainability and environmental services; EBM Papst, a market leader in high quality, technologically advanced air movement products and Business Stream, the company set up when Scottish Water divided its wholesale and retail operations. Since its successful appearance at NEMEX 2011, energy technology specialists t-mac Technologies Ltd has strengthened its offering by acquiring design engineering and manufacturing firm FAW Electronics. t-mac director Lisa Gingell said: “By

acquiring FAW Electronics we have reduced the final link in our production chain. Now our cutting-edge products, which we provide for businesses across the UK and worldwide, will be made from beginning to end by t-mac.”

CUB is a family-run energy specialist based in March, Cambridgeshire and is looking ahead to NEMEX in celebratory mood. The business was founded in 1994 by Royden Fairfax to provide expert support to achieve cost savings, energy market monitoring and assistance with portfolio performance analysis.

There will be a return visit to NEMEX for the Renewable Energy Technology Alliance, RETA, which had its official launch shortly after its appearance at last year’s show.
