comments: “The FM industry in the UK is the most mature and therefore we should take the opportunity to showcase the level of excellence and innovation that exists within the industry as well as the contribution that it makes to the UK economy. “We have always considered the

Facilities Show to be an extremely valuable event. We are hoping that the FMA Village will be a vibrant new area, in which visitors can find out more about what we do, as well as the work of our members.”

THE BIFM CPD THEATRE This year, Facilities Show will introduce the new CPD Theatre in association with the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and sponsored by The PURE Water Company.

As the industry becomes ever more

fast-paced and subject to increasing levels of legislation, the need for continuing professional development is essential for all ambitious facilities managers. This revised content will reflect a move within the FM industry towards increased

professionalisation and officially recognised development.

Members of the BIFM Approved CPD

Provider Network will also be running sessions in the new BIFM CPD Theatre which will see the delivery of high quality independently assessed CPD.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT ZONE In line with visitor research conducted, the 2012 exhibition will reflect a demand for increased content on sustainability. Therefore, the Sustainable FM Academy returns within a bigger and better Energy Management Zone.

Sponsored by Ardenham Energy, the Sustainable FM Academy will focus on the key issues of Energy Management including carbon reduction, waste to energy, sustainability, legislation, and green ambitions in the workplace – providing expert opinion and analysis to support delegates in this increasingly important and complex area.

A plethora of the industry’s leading players will be on hand to advise visitors and showcase their latest solutions including Buderus, powerPerfector,

FACILITIES FORUM Also new to the show is the Facilities

Forum. This busy seminar theatre, sponsored by Planon Software, will host leading industry speakers addressing key issues on the FM agenda, providing thought provoking insight on issues including compliance, security, risk management, cost control and churn management. The Facilities Forum will also feature sessions from Theresa Flower, Facilities Manager at Nottingham City Council and Liz Kentish, the new deputy chair of BIFM. The complete timetable will be published on the Facilities Show website.

A record 250 exhibitors are expected, reflecting the scale and diversity of this ever growing sector. Visitors will have the chance to engage with companies and service providers from the worlds of energy management, maintenance, security, vending, parking, waste management, information technology, cleaning, health & safety, interiors, office management and sustainability. The shows biggest ever networking bar will provide the perfect environment for meetings and the Facilities Management Association (FMA) is set to hold their May networking event at the show.

Adrian Newton, Group Director for

Facilities Show believes it is vital that FMs get out and meet the suppliers they are keen to work with and see their products and services in action. “Sixty nine percent of visitors to our 2011 FM shows cited sourcing new products and services as a key reason for their attendance as well as 79 percent who wanted to learn about the latest industry trends – take advantage of the free networking opportunities open to you”, he continues.
