Frazier & Frazier Adds New Molding Machine to Capabilities Frazier & Frazier Industries,
Coolidge, Texas, recently added an au- tomated matchplate molding machine to its casting capabilities to increase its ability to change jobs. Traditionally a more manual shop,
the company has added automatic coresetting equipment and automated
molding machines over the years. A Hunter XL2024 automatic matchplate molding machine, used with an exist- ing mold handling turntable system, was added most recently. Tree melting units feed iron to the molding stations. “We have traditionally worked in pieces from a few ounces up to 150
lbs. or more,” said Will Frazier, the company’s plant manager. “Te large runs were more typical in days past, while we saw a new business environment emerging, several years ago, when the market began to decline overall.” According to Frazier, many of the
company’s traditional customers began reducing inventories and placed shorter run orders with tighter lead times. “Tis [ability to be flexible] is one of the biggest reasons we’ve contin- ued to prosper, while so many other foundries have disappeared,” he said. “We recognize what works and what doesn’t, to best suit our current busi- ness and market conditions.” The company serves the oil and
gas market, as well as the auto- motive, agricultural, wind energy, municipal water works and other market segments.
