Diecast Connections Grows Business With State Loan DieCast Connections Co. Inc., Chi-


copee, Mass., has obtained a $300,000 loan to hire six additional employees and purchase equipment and material in support of a new product. Te nonferrous permanent mold


and diecasting company obtained the loan from MassDevelopment, Massachusetts’ finance and develop- ment agency. Over the last two years, DieCast has invested in technical advances and engineering software as part of its growth plan. “Tis program has provided the


additional financial resources that will allow DieCast to create sustainable growth and jobs, which is a benefit to the local economy,” said DieCast Con- nections President Beth Zastawny. DieCast Connections provides


engineering services and support, cast- ing, secondary finishing, machining,


component assembly, injection mold- ing and powder coat painting services. Te company serves the automotive, electronics, industrial equipment and utilities industries. It will employ 26 after the project is completed. MassDevelopment works with


businesses, nonprofits, financial insti- tutions and communities to stimulate economic growth. “Loans from the [programs] help


companies grow and fill new orders,” said MassDevelopment President and CEO Marty Jones.


Craft Pattern & Mold Moves Into New Facility Craft Pattern & Mold, formerly


located in Maple Plain, Minn., has launched a new 35,000-sq.-ft. facility in Montrose, Minn. Te new product development center is equipped to provide tool- ing, casting, machining, finishing and inspection in one location. Te facility more than doubled Craft Pattern’s manufacturing space and allowed the company to add a second molding line and four new machining centers to its capabilities. “We are in our new location and


running at full speed,” said Tony Cre- mers, company president. Originally a pattern and tool-


ing shop, Craft Pattern purchased a metalcasting facility in the late 1990s and combined the two opera- tions in 2008. The company focuses on providing cast and plastic rapid prototypes, as well as tooling and machining services, to a variety of end-use industries.
