Enhancing the Kauai brand


Mr Boyle said Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group’s branding expertise and global marketing channels will enhance the Kauai Coffee brand and bring wider recognition of the rich tradi- tion of growing, milling and roasting coffee on the Garden Island. "Estate- grown Kauai Coffee will join the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group’s existing green coffee operations in Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, Vietnam and Indonesia" he explained. Kauai Coffee Company is located on the south side of the island of Kauai between Koloa and ‘Ele’ele and its visi- tor centre remains a popular tourist destination.


Speaking exclusively to C&CI,


Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA’s Senior Vice President, Operations, Chuck Gosstrom noted that, in volume terms, the company had been one of the top five roasters in the US for some time.


On-going investment


As he explained, the company is also investing in new roasting machines from Neuhaus Neotec in Germany, in order to enhance its existing facilities. The new roasting machines will be commis- sioned shortly, and will be complement- ed by the addition of additional flexible packaging machines for the Suffolk plant. These will be supplied by ICA in Bologna, Italy and will complement machines supplied by another Italian manufacturer, OMAG. Mr Gosstrom said that Massimo
