Fairtrade CEO

Rob Cameron has left from Fairtrade International and the post of Chief Executive Officer. In a statement, the board and staff of Fairtrade International said they "appreciated Rob’s commitment and energy during his four years at the helm of the organisation and his con- tribution to driving improvements across the global Fairtrade system. Mr Cameron leaves a strong, professional man- agement team at Fairtrade International." In the immediate term, the organisation will be led by an executive man- agement team drawn from senior management. The board will shortly begin a comprehensive global recruitment process for a new Chief Executive.


Han Wortman joins Molenbergnatie


Warehouse and logistics company Molenbergnatie has appointed Han Wortman as Director, International Coffee Strategy. Mr Wortman has been active in the green coffee world since 1978 as


a trader, regional manager in Asia and a managing director with a number of different coffee trading companies.

Lincoln & York creates new distributor support team


Coffee roaster Lincoln & York, a well-known private label coffee roaster in the UK, has created a new dis- tributor support team in order to provide an enhanced service to its independent coffee distributor cus- tomer base. Steve Goode, Wholesale Sales Manager, who has been with Lincoln & York for more than 12 years and has vast experience of the marketplace, will be managing a range of nationally located accounts. He is being joined by Eliott Spencer, Business Development Manager, who has joined from within the industry, and brings with him a wealth of experience of the products, packaging options and pricing required to support independent distributors. The team is completed with another new recruit, Adele Walker who comes from a sales support background. Adele will provide vital administrative back up for the field sales team, along with managing our house accounts.


Safmarine appoints new CEO


Shipping company Safmarine has announced the appoint- ment of Grant Daly as its new CEO. South African-born Daly, formerly Safmarine’s Head of Multi-Purpose Vessels, replaces Tomas Dyrbye, who has been Safmarine’s CEO for the past two and a half years. Mr Daly joined Safmarine 17 years ago after graduating from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Economics degree.


White Coffee appoints designer


White Coffee Corporation has appointed a dedicated designer who will be in charge of its coffee and tea packaging and gift bag products. The company’s new in- house designer and marketing co-ordinator is Donna Jin, who will be responsible for coffee bag designs and labels, sales pieces, marketing collateral and promo- tional items as well as social net- working sites, and any visual marketing items.


The appointment of a new Safmarine CEO follows the announcement, in October 2011, of the Maersk Liner Business’ intention to integrate the corporate and regional management activities of Safmarine into those of the Maersk Line, whilst retaining and growing a separate Safmarine brand and operating model. Safmarine will con- tinue to have its own independent pricing, capacity, sales and customer services structure.


Safmarine has announced the appointment of Grant Daly as its new CEO.


Mr Daly will be based at the new Safmarine headquar- ters in Copenhagen, Denmark where he will report to Hanne B Sørensen, Maersk Line’s Chief Commercial Officer. Safmarine has also appointed three experienced ‘Safmariners’ as senior members of a


newly-established Safmarine commercial team, which will be headed by Safmarine’s new CEO. British-born Nick Gough, currently Safmarine’s Strategic Sales and Key Accounts Director based in Antwerp, assumes the role of Global Key Account Director based in Copenhagen, while fellow Brit, Stephen Knight, takes on the role of Safmarine’s Global Sales Director. Mr Knight, who will relocate to Copenhagen from Dubai, is currently Safmarine’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Executive.


South African Russell Gillespie, currently Safmarine’s Antwerp-based Customer Insight


Director, is its new Global Access and Experience Director responsible for, among other roless, branding, PR and communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and a number of customer intelligence and segmentation initiatives.
