Administrative Services: Amanda Carter A 2001 graduate of Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Amanda Carter came to work for PEC on a part-time basis in April 2004 as a cashier while pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at East Central University (ECU). After graduating from ECU in 2005 and a brief career with the Chickasaw Nation, she accepted a full-time offer from PEC to return to the Customer Service department as a customer service representative. Carter was promoted in 2007 to the Supervisor of Cashiers, and later in December of 2011, to her current position, Director of Member Payment Services. According to Carlton Tilley, Senior VP of Administrative Services, her title “barely scratches the surface of what Amanda does within the Customer Service Department.” 0062800900

Each year PEC employees honor two fellow employees who consistently demonstrate excellence in his or her position. The 2011 Employees of the Year are Amanda Carter in PEC’s Administrative Services Division and Clay Anderson from the Operations Division.

“Amanda assists with new construction customers, proves her leadership skills as she supervises and trains cashiers, effortlessly handles customer questions and concerns, aids in processing and assuring accuracy in monthly customer bills, and excels in selling PEC products and services,” Tilley added.


Carter received the same honor in 2008, and states, “I love being a part of the PEC family. The interaction I’m able to have with customers at so many different levels keeps every day new and challenging.”

Clay Anderson is a 2003 graduate of Bowlegs High School. Upon high school graduation, he pursued a degree in Business Finance from ECU, graduating in 2007. He began working at PEC on June 4, 2007, in his current position as Graphics Information Supervisor.


“This award means a lot to me, especially considering who I am up against--my co- workers who do their jobs well with smiles on their faces. So many of them deserve the same recognition,” Anderson said. 0140500102 Together with his department supervisor, his assigned employees, and employees from various other departments in the co-op, Anderson works to build and maintain PEC’s geographic information system (GIS).

His strong work ethic has not gone unnoticed. “Clay takes on special projects on top of his tremendous work load and always delivers timely,” John Hudson, PEC’s Senior VP of Operations and Engineering, said of Anderson.


Anderson lives in Ada with his wife, Laura, and their two children. “I am thankful for my job and consider myself blessed,” Anderson said.
