Gusty Winds
Sadly the gusty winds in January brought in several casualties...
In fact in one day a Barn Owl, a Herring gull and a Kestrel were all brought in with smashed wings, having blown into objects.
All were beyond help which is why when a buzzard arrived having been found on the side of the road, we were really pleased that we thought we may be able to help it. The Buzzard had had some impact of some sort as he had a retina bleed and was underweight.
Just a few days in the warm Jasmine Room and then aviary exercise to bring him back up to condition, he was recovering well. The lucky buzzard was released at the end of January during a mild spell - a wonderful sight to see.
Please remember
us in your will A gift to Secret World in a will is the greatest gift a wildlife lover can give!
Legacies help us continue our work rescuing wildlife, conserving habitats and protecting species. Each year a quarter of our income comes from legacies, without them we would not be able to continue our life-saving work.
It is impossible to put a value on the joy we get from our natural surroundings. We have all experienced one of those magical moments when nature allows you to catch a glimpse of something truly beautiful and inspiring, whether a robin on your windowsill, or foxes playing in a field, or a majestic stag standing proud with his herd of deer. When we have these brief connections it makes you realise just how wondrous our world really is - but also how fragile it is becoming!
If you have remembered us in your will, we would love to hear from you. Mainly because we would like to say thank you but also it would give us the opportunity to discuss with you what your actions could mean to us. We want you to be happy in the knowledge that your gift to us will help us save lives and reduce the suffering of wildlife.
If you would like to discuss any aspect with regards to including Secret World Wildlife Rescue in your will, please contact me personally.
