Sinead: Oh god no, absolutely not. I am just a normal Irish woman! I am definitely not an Irish beauty. The models we have and the guests on the show, they are the Irish beauties. I am as normal looking and normal figured as any woman you will see walking down the street. I am very lucky; I have a make-up artist, hairdresser and lighting.
Oonagh: Do you think Irish women are beautiful in general?
Sinead: I genuinely, hand on heart, think Irish women are extraordinarily beautiful, not just because I think we have wonderful eyes and wonderful hair. I think Irish women have amazing personalities; they are great fun. They are so confident and they achieve a huge amount. We have something special going on as Irish women.
Oonagh: Who is your role model and why?
Sinead: This is going to sound cheesy but my mother was the best role model I could ever have wished for. She left school when she was 12 or 13 and went back to school when I was in school. When I was doing my inter-cert she was doing her leaving cert and when I was doing my leaving cert she was doing her degree at university and working and minding me. My brother was profoundly deaf and she was teaching him how to speak and she was a force of nature.
Oonagh: Working at TV3, do you have any funny incidents that you can tell us about?
Sinead: Every day on TV there's something, from hiding a ladder in my tights, to spilling coffee on myself. I am very clumsy! One time a goose did a poo on the sofa and we lost a hedgehog! Another time, when just Alan and I were doing the show, we couldn't stop laughing and had to come off of air quick.
Oonagh: Finally, what do you believe is the secret to having a successful career?
Sinead: My motto, and my father's motto, which I have stuck to: the harder you work, the luckier you get. Work hard and it pays off! Keep plugging away, persist and you will get there. When other people are giving up don't give up because that is what is going to separate you from everyone else.
Oonagh’s verdict...
Sinead is prone to breakouts and suffers from oily skin. This is partly due to the environment she works in. I have recommended the Purifying Serum and Purifying Fluid from the DermActe range from AcadermieSciintifique de Beaute.
Sinead is also a lover of seaweed products for her body so she is using the Body Lotion with seaweed extract from Thal'ion and the Firming Shaping Expert also from Thal'ion.
She likes a fluid foundation for daytime so I have recommended the Christian Breton Fluid Foundation in Natural for her.
