BLS RECOGNITION FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11, 6-9 p.m.


Presented by: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certified instructors Using American Heart Association guidelines, this two-day, six-hour course is for health care providers who have never taken a Basic Life Support course nor have a current BLS card. Tis course teaches the skills of BLS for adults, children and infants, use of barrier devices, automatic external defibrillator and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Fee: $69


HEARTSAVER CPR AND AED FOR ALL AGES Saturday, May 5, 8 a.m.-noon


Presented by: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certified instructors Tis American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR and automatic external defibrillator course is for anyone who wants to learn the skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation for an adult, child and infant, use of a barrier device, use of an automatic external defibrillator and how to help a choking victim. A course completion card will be given at the end of class. Fee: $50

All classes held 6:30-9 p.m. A three-night series for the expectant mother and her coach that covers labor, comfort measures, birth, postpartum and newborn care. Two interactive Web-based booklets are included for further learning and review at home. Plan to finish the series four weeks before your due date. A tour of the Birthing Center is included. Fee: $60/couple if delivering at Community Memorial; $120 if delivering elsewhere.


CHILDBIRTH AND NEWBORN CARE SATURDAY EXPRESS


Saturdays, March 10, April 14, May 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. A condensed version of the weeknight childbirth education series. Plan to finish the class four weeks before your due date. A tour of the Birthing Center is included. Fee: $75/couple if delivering at Community Memorial; $150 if delivering elsewhere; includes lunch.


ADVANCED COMFORT MEASURES FOR CHILDBIRTH


Tursdays, March 15, April 26, May 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. A two-hour class designed for those who want more in-depth instruction and practice with natural comfort measures for labor and birth. Tis class will include proper body mechanics in late pregnancy, relaxation exercises, breathing, massage, visualization and more. Some practice time will occur in the Birthing Center to allow participants to better prepare for their upcoming birth experience. Fee: $20/couple if delivering at Community Memorial; $40 if delivering elsewhere.

BIG BROTHER/BIG SISTER Saturdays, March 17, April 21, May 19, 9:30-10:45 a.m. An interactive class designed for children ages 2-7 who are expecting a new baby in their family. In addition to watching a fun video about becoming a “Super Sibling,” children and parents participate in various hands-on activities together. A tour of the Birthing Center is included. Fee: $12/child if mom is delivering at Community Memorial; $24 if delivering elsewhere.


BREASTFEEDING BASICS


Mondays, March 19, April 16, May 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Designed to provide information on breastfeeding, newborn behavior and making your breastfeeding experience a positive one. Father/support person is encouraged to attend. Fee: $22/couple if delivering at Community Memorial; $44 if delivering elsewhere.
