Here are just a few of the projects supported by Foundation donors in 2011: Cancer Care Center – $1,050,000


Linear accelerator for radiation treatment and digital mammography in the Breast Care Center


Community Outreach Health Clinic – $120,000 Essential medical care provided to 2,485 people without health insurance, an all-time high


Colorectal Cancer Prevention and Early Detection – $56,000 Free colonoscopies for uninsured, at-risk patients and a part-time community health educator (Bobbie Nick Voss Charitable Funds)


Scholarships – $35,500


Ensuring a strong, highly trained workforce of care providers by encouraging area students to pursue careers in health care

Memorial Foundation Philanthropy Excellence Award


Community Memorial Foundation Philanthropy Excellence Award at the annual donor reception this fall. An outstanding donor will be highlighted each year at the donor reception and presented with the award.

T e criteria for the award includes an individual or family who supports


the mission of Community Memorial Hospital and Foundation for a minimum of three years with a demonstrated record of exceptional generosity through volunteerism and/or monetary giſt s. T ey also have signifi cantly improved the quality of life in our community, motivated others to provide philanthropic support and built community relationships.


T is year’s recipient was John Lorenz. John began coordinating the Zopen wiffl eball tournament in 2005 in memory of two of his friends’ dads who died of cancer. Since that time, he has raised more than $30,000 with this July event and has added more “angels,” as he calls them, to their cause. Proceeds from the Zopen are designated to the Cancer Care Center at Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital. ■
