Reaching Norwich
The city of Norwich has a population of close to 41,000, and of this number 26% come from other nationalities or ethnic backgrounds. “Norwich is in the middle of two very large casinos and because of this, many internationals come to work in the casinos and live in the city of Norwich,” explains missionary Shaun Pillay. By starting Cornerstone International Church, Pillay hopes to reach this diverse community and in turn, the nations they represent. Read more about Pillay’s ministry on page 14.

Saving South Florida
An overwhelming majority (96%) of the population in south Florida is considered lost or unchurched, making the need for the ministry of missionary Danny Egipciaco there all the more vital. Read more about Egipciaco and his work on page 38 in this issue of On Mission.

A Disconnected Generation
Three out of every five young Christians disconnect from the local church either permanently or for an extended period of time after the age of 15. In an effort to combat this trend, the Barna Group conducted research to discover why young Christians turn away from church. They found the top six reasons:
1) Churches seem overprotective.
2) Our experience in church seems shallow.
3) Church comes across as antagonistic to science.
4) The way church relates to sexuality is judgmental and simplistic.
5) We wrestle with the exclusivity of Christianity.
6) The church is unfriendly to those who doubt.

Consider how your church might respond to each of these concerns and better reach this young generation of Christians.
