BRINGING
HEAVEN
TO EARTH
Church plant provides glimpse of God’s plan for people By Tobin Perry
The Heritage Glen apartments are a long way from heaven. Just looking at the dilapidated tennis courts, overgrown grass and worn-out exterior paint job shows that.

Yet for the past two years Cincinnati’s Red Door Church, started by North American Mission Board missionary Josh Lenon in 2010, has been trying to close that distance.

“We can provide just a glimpse of heaven on earth,” says Lenon. “We can paint a picture of God’s future for these people.”

Over the past two years the church has replaced playground equipment, landscaped the playground, provided meals—and even thrown birthday parties for residents. The ministry at Heritage Glen goes to the very core of what the Red Door Church is all about—“bringing heaven to earth.”
