Religious Decline
The number of people in Canada practicing a religion other than Christianity is expected to nearly double in size by 2031, according to research conducted by Statistics Canada. Currently, about 8% claim a non-Christian religion, but this number is projected to reach a little more than 14% in the next 20 years. In addition, the number of Canadian Christians is projected to decline from 75% down to 65% while those with no religious affiliation will rise from 17% to 21%. Please pray for missionary Jason McGibbon as he strives to work against this religious trend in Toronto to reach the city for Christ. Read more about McGibbon on page 20.

Girl’s Club
Women have a stronger presence in social media than men, making up the majority on both Facebook and Twitter. Some 15 million more women than men are registered on Facebook. These women post 10 to 26 times per month on the site while men only actively use the site 7 to 17 times monthly. Twitter shares a similar trend, with 55% of their users being female.

Divorce Rate
Twenty-nine percent of children under the age of 18 live with a divorced or never married parent while parents of 18 to 30 year olds have a 50% divorce rate. With such numbers, consider what your church can do to reach out to the children of divorced and single parents while also strengthening the marriages of the couples in your congregations and communities.
