NOW THAT’S AN IDEA
Spring Training
As the great melt begins and you get ready to stretch toward summer, what are some things you might do to strengthen the fundamentals and develop in new areas of church planting involvement, missions and evangelism?

Warm up.
Take advantage of the thaw to walk or drive your community with a group from your church. Maybe you can prayerwalk your neighborhood, city or even a community in the next county. This simple act of getting outside, observing and interacting with others can open your eyes to new opportunities.

Now stretch.
What are you missing? Do a quick inventory of the past year. What activities and areas bore fruit, which weren’t as successful? Were you, your family and your church as engaged as they could be?

Get moving.
You probably have a summer mission trip (or several) planned. Are there ways you could use these trips to connect with strategic partners where you’re headed? The North American Mission Board has developed an assessment process for churches to get involved in strategic areas throughout North America. Visit namb.net/mobilize-me to learn more.

Pre-season.
Well, there’s not really any one season for ministry, but now’s as good a time as any to think about getting the evangelistic muscles ready for primetime. For apologetics resources, visit 4truth.net. A site like people groups.info will help you locate people groups in your area of ministry. For evangelism tools and ministry opportunities, visit namb.net/love-loud and gps2020.net.

Hit the field.
Use each ministry effort as a learning experience for your teams. As you pray and work through the exciting challenges and opportunities you’ll inevitably face, ask God not only to work through you but in you to shape you into the image of His Son. Only then are we doing the work worthy of the call.
