“… Then they came to Him bringing a paralytic carried by four men. Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above where He was … Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’” —MARK 2:1-5
It started with a trickle of dust. And then a sliver of light flickered on the crowd below. The trickle of dust turned into chunks of debris. Sunlight flooded the room, and four heads appeared through a hole big enough to fit a full-grown man.
These determined men lowered their paralyzed friend through the hole and down in front of Jesus’ feet.
Without the faith of these friends, and their trust in who Jesus was and what He would do, the man would not have been healed. The men didn’t let a huge crowd stop them from getting their friend to Jesus. They may not have chosen the traditional way to accomplish their mission. Instead they chose a radical alternative–doing whatever it took.
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to reach North America with the gospel? Will you join in the work of our Southern Baptist missionaries and carry those who need Jesus into His presence, no matter the cost?
Your church or family may want to pick a week this spring and focus on North American missions.
