Hybrid Teas and Grandifloras NEW ZEALAND Hybrid Tea

(Plant Patent #8279, Var: MACgenev) T ough its large, luminous shell pink blooms open a little too fast for exhibi- tion, New Zealand has everything else go- ing for it. T e foliage is very dark green with a lustrous quality that is surprisingly clean. Since its introduction, this beauty has maintained its popularity simply be- cause its unmatched fragrance keeps fi nd- ing new noses. Its vigor will require you to disbud the many side buds if you want long stemmed single fl owers, but let them all bloom and you can cut big sprays of large, aromatic fl owers. Extremely prolifi c for a large rose and quick to repeat.

OLYMPIAD Hybrid Tea

(Var: MACauck) Exquisite blooms of pure clear red have all the qualities of a great exhibition rose and are borne so pro- lifi cally that they can be depended upon for cutting all season long. T e plants are tall, long stemmed and covered with light green, heavily toothed foliage that is prob- ably the most mildew resistant in its class. Sam McGredy had a strong belief that roses should be fragrant. Alas, this one has little fragrance, but it didn’t stop it from being one of the best selling red roses for the last 25+ years.

POLISHER PRUNER

pruner blades to like-new condition by polishing away

sap and dirt.

Many gardeners complain that their pruners are dull – when in fact they are just very dirty. Over time, sap and soil can ac- cumulate on the blade – leaving a dark coat that makes cuts less precise. Our Pruner Polisher is the perfect solution for removing that dark patina from the blades of your favorite pruners. Use it like an eraser to polish your blades back to a new fi nish in just a few minutes. T e dense rubber block is also great for removing rust from tools that have been left in the rain.
