BALEARIC ISLANDS
Sunseeker Charters Itinerary 2 WEEKS
The Pleasures of
Luxury
Day 1 (from 12 noon) Palma
On arrival at Port de Mallorca in Palma, your captain and crew will welcome you on board your Sunseeker motoryacht with a glass of champagne (and refreshing soft drinks for the children!).
Having settled in to your beautifully appointed accommodation, the vessel will slip its moorings and head out to find a ‘cala’ (cove) to anchor for a swim. There are plenty of calas and beaches to choose from in the area, including Las Illetas and Cala Portals.
This evening, you have the choice of returning to the home berth in Palma, or anchoring overnight just outside the exclusive marina of Puerto Portals.
Although there are no visitors’ moorings in Puerto Portals, you can be transferred via the tender to the marina complex where there is a host of wonderful restaurants. These include the popular and vibrant ‘Wellies’, as well as the sushi bar ‘Tahini’s’, and the more upmarket ‘Tristan’s’.
If you choose to stay in Port de Mallorca, Palma town offers a wide selection of restaurants to accommodate all tastes.
Day 2 Palma – Port Andraitx
Today, your Sunseeker will depart the marina before breakfast, head southwest across the bay and follow the coast round towards Andraitx. Before rounding the headland that protects Andraitx harbour, the captain will drop anchor in the beautiful Cala Marmacen. (This journey will take about 30 to 45 minutes.) You may wish to take a swim before enjoying a fabulous breakfast on the aft deck.
Spend as long as you wish at this anchorage before weighing anchor and heading towards the popular Camp De Mar. This beach has a number of bars and restaurants. In the middle of the bay is an unusual feature – a small island with restaurants and little shops, which is connected to the beach by a bridge. You may wish to stop here for lunch before making your way into Andraitx, which is where you will be staying overnight.
Andraitx is set in a lovely, protected bay. A number of celebrities have properties in the area, which is testament to the attractiveness of this location. The town is on the opposite side of the harbour to the marina, so you may wish to ask your captain to take you across in the tender, or you may wish to walk. Having a rich history, Andraitx town, with its narrow alleyways and interesting architecture, is a picturesque place to explore. The town is also host to one of Europe’s largest contemporary art galleries. Back at the marina, enjoy a refreshing plunge in the swimming pool.
In the evening, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, including the ‘Restaurante La Gallega’, which specializes in f ish dishes.
Day 3 Port Andraitx – Santa Eulalia, Ibiza
After having breakfast in the berth at Port Andraitx’s marina, your vessel will head out of the bay. You will journey southwest towards your next destination – the fabulous island of Ibiza. The trip to the northeastern tip of the island will take around two and a half hours.
Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Alcudia, Soller, Pollensa
Cala San Vicente provides an excellent anchorage, which is popular with vessels making the journey between Mallorca and Ibiza. Enjoy a long lunch at this anchorage before cruising along the Ibizan coast towards tonight’s mooring in Santa Eulalia.
Although Santa Eulalia is now a fairly busy tourist resort, it still has the charm and character provided by its rich history. There are many interesting buildings in the old town, and the remains of the Roman aqueduct can be seen across the Santa Eulalia River. Santa Eulalia also boasts a super white sand beach, which is adjacent to the harbour.
As the town is so popular with visitors, there is plenty of choice when it comes to dining. ‘La Rambla’ serves excellent pasta and pizza, as well as a range of international cuisine. If you like tapas, then ‘Rincon de Pepe’ is for you. ‘Es Rickshaw’ is a new and slightly quirky restaurant, which has a rickshaw decorating its entrance. For something a little more up-market, ‘Ca Na Ribes’ offers top class cuisine and is frequented by the local dignitaries.
Day 4 Santa Eulalia and surrounding calas
Today, you will depart before breakfast to make the most of the delightful calas close to Santa Eulalia – Boix, Mastella, Llena, Nova and Cana. You will spend the day relaxing, swimming, sunbathing and enjoying watersports in spectacular scenery.
In the afternoon you will return to Santa Eulalia to stay overnight.
