Day 4 St Peter Port – Herm
Today, your Sunseeker will depart port when you rise and anchor at nearby Fermain Bay. Here, in this attractive bay, breakfast will be served.
After breakfast, the Captain will weigh anchor and make way across the Little Russel Channel to Herm Island, which lies between Guernsey and Sark. This island – only 3 miles from Guernsey – is small and unspoilt. No cars are allowed on the island, which is a mile and a half long and half a mile wide.
Anchoring in Belvoir Bay, you will then be transferred to the island by tender so you are able to explore. You may wish to enjoy a cliff-top walk before enjoying lunch at the island’s hotel.
After a relaxing day on Herm, ‘High Energy’ will return you to St Peter Port for the night.
Day 5 St Peter Port – St Helier
This morning you will bid farewell to Guernsey and head further south and east towards Jersey.
The journey to the largest of the Channel Islands will take about an hour.
‘High Energy’ will anchor in St Aubin’s Bay and a delicious lunch will be served on board.
After lunch, ‘High Energy’ will berth in St Helier Marina. St Helier is Jersey’s capital. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the town and its sights.
Returning to the marina later in the day, the waterfront bars will provide the perfect atmosphere for an early evening drink. Tonight, you will be able to sample one of St Helier’s excellent restaurants, such as ‘Bohemia’ – Jersey’s only Michelin-star restaurant.
Day 6 Jersey – St Malo
Leaving Jersey behind, you will head further south and into France today.
The walled city of St Malo is about two hours from St Helier and well worth exploring. ‘High Energy’ will be berthed here for two nights, so you will have ample time to explore the attractive streets, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as the neighbouring beaches. While you are here you will be able to discover for yourself why St Malo is described as the jewel of this particular coastline, and take a journey through its legends and history through its impressive ramparts and ancient monuments.
For gastronomes, there is plenty to choose from – including the ‘institution’ that is ‘A la Duchesse Anne’, which has been providing excellent cuisine in St Malo for more than 60 years; and ‘Le Chalut’, which is known as the place to go for fresh fish.
Day 7 St Malo
Today is reserved for further leisure time in St Malo. If you happen to visit on a Tuesday or Friday you will be able to experience a typical Breton market in the heart of the old city.
For lunch, you may wish to explore further afield and take a short drive to the town of Cancale to sample the f ine dining of the Michelin starred ‘Le Coquillage’.
Back in St Malo, perhaps you will want to enjoy a walk along the beach or, alternatively, some more shopping in the city’s many boutiques and other outlets.
As the evening sun sets, drinks will be served on ‘High Energy’s’ aft cockpit before you are invited to sit down to a delicious dinner comprising fresh, Breton produce on board.
Day 8 St Malo – Jersey
This morning can be spent relaxing or for any last- minute shopping. You will also have the opportunity to take lunch at another of St Malo’s excellent restaurants before ‘High Energy’ departs and heads back to Jersey.
‘High Energy’ will berth in St Helier Marina in time for evening drinks. You will be able to go ashore to sample another of the Jersey capital’s restaurants, or stay on board for a light evening meal.
Day 9 Jersey – Alderney
Departing St Helier this morning, today’s cruise will take you past Sark. Enjoy a relaxed lunch at anchor in one of Sark’s beautiful bays or you may wish to venture ashore to ‘La Sabblonerie’. This whitewashed sixteenth century farmhouse hotel and restaurant, which offers a Victorian horse and carriage transfer from the arrival jetty, is known for superb cuisine.
This afternoon – perhaps after a swim in Sark’s attractive waters – ‘High Energy’ will continue the journey north to the island of Alderney. The third largest of the Channel Islands, Alderney remains largely unspoilt, with cliffs, gorseland, white sand beaches and narrow cobbled streets.
Tonight, you will stay at anchor in Braye Harbour. Catch the water taxi ashore to visit one of the island’s restaurants.
Day 10 Alderney – Southampton
After a delicious breakfast at anchor in Braye Harbour, ‘High Energy’ will weigh anchor and begin the journey back to the UK mainland. The trip to Southampton will take around four hours. Upon your return to Ocean Village Marina, the crew will wish you a fond farewell and safe onward journey.
