“Had my first ever win at a race meeting – only small but what fun, the course is impressive and so friendly. We’ve been to the Dungeon – it’s brilliant but scary and I ended up on trial in the courtroom! Afternoon tea at Bettys was heavenly – the ‘fat rascals’ are to die for and as if we hadn’t had enough frights for one day, we went on a ghost walk in the evening. This morning’s service in York Minster was inspirational and as we stood outside, the archbishop came over and asked where we were from. There’s so much to do, we have to come back – perhaps in September for the Food Festival or December for Christmas shopping and the Festival of Angels which has amazing ice carvings. And best of all, the people are lovely.”
