Slides not sent in a page will not be consid- ered. Digital photos can be sent on CD but must be a minimum of nine inches across at 300 d.p.i. in TIF format (if you really want to impress us, change the color mode to CMYK). If you open your photo in Photoshop and check its dimension in pixels, it must be at least 2700 pixels across the longest di- mension. Digital files that are too small are the single biggest reason we don’t use a pho- to. Digital photos may be edited for exposure, but should not be otherwise enhanced (i.e. do not add or remove elements that were or were not actually in the scene as pho- tographed); send the full image, and leave any cropping to us. Along with the CD, in- clude hard copies of the photos on separate sheets of paper (no more than four photos per sheet) so we’ll have a good idea what the shots look like, as we will not open every sin- gle image on a CD to see what’s in there — and please make sure that the reference num- bers on the hard copy and captions corre- spond with the file numbers on the CD. The easier you make it for the editors to see your shots, the more favorably they will look upon your submissions. Prints are not accepted. The deadline for submissions is February
