Prof. Kyle Metzloff Named FEF/ AFS Distinguished Professor Prof. Kyle Metzl-


off , Metal Technology Professor at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Platte- ville, Platteville, Wis., received the Foundry Education Foundation (FEF) and Ameri- can Foundry Society (AFS) Distinguished Professor Award dur- ing the FEF College Industry Conference on Nov. 17. T e organizations selected Metzloff to receive the $6,000 award for his success in student placement in the fi eld and generating student interest and participation in metalcasting and FEF activi- ties. Metzloff has been a Key FEF Professor for at least three years and participated in industry events. AFS and FEF offi cials said Metzloff showed a personal

Student Technology Scholarship Open to Applicants Applications for the fi fth annual Foundry Education


Foundation (FEF) and American Foundry Society (AFS) Student Technology Scholarship are now available online. T e scholarship recognizes excellence in student research. To qualify, students must currently be enrolled in a met-


alcasting program at an FEF-certifi ed and affi liated school. T e student must currently be involved in metalcasting technology or molten metal processing research. T e winning project will receive an FEF Scholarship and AFS Award of Merit along with publication in the AFS International Journal of Metalcasting. All participat- ing sudents receive complimentary registration to the 116th Metalcasting Congress. All applications must be submitted by March 1. Applica-


tions will be reviewed by the AFS Research Board and posted at the Metalcasting Congress in April.
