BODY CENTRAL IMPLEMENTS WAREHOUSE
SOFTWARE US-based clothing retailer Body Central has completed the implementation of an integrated warehousing, sales order and purchasing management software solution. As the fi rst contract win in the
US for the supplier, Body Central chose to implement MNP’s complete ACTIVEseries warehouse system. With a network of 221 stores in 24
states, as well as online and catalogue trading, the retailer found that its retail- based systems could not cope effectively with the volume of direct orders received on a daily basis.
The MNP system was selected based
on its track record of high-volume order processing, together with its experience in providing order processing systems for multichannel clothing retailers. Its solution is integrated into Island Pacifi c’s e-commerce site and merchandising system.
Richard Walters, chief fi nancial offi cer of Body Central, commented: “Having successfully implemented and worked with ACTIVEseries, we are very pleased to report that MNP’s enterprise-wide platform is making a signifi cant difference in the effi ciency of our direct operations. This provides us with a solution that is highly benefi cial in delivering further improvements to our customer service.”

COOP DENMARK TAKES ON E-LABELS
Coop Denmark recently announced an agreement with ZBD Displays and its Nordic partner Delfi Technologies, to implement graphic electronic shelf-edge labels (ESELs) and Delfi ’s Breece System within its stores in Denmark and Greenland. The fi rst phase of the expanded rollout is for 77 stores with an initial order value of DKK 50 million (£6m). The rollout is already underway and the suppliers said further installations were expected to follow. Svend Envoldsen, Coop Denmark chief information offi cer, commented: “We’ve tested the system in several stores. The combination of the gains we’ve seen here, along with the graphic solution, price and easy installation, helped to form the basis for the agreement we have signed.” He added: “We are convinced that the solution can streamline operations in our different chain stores and provide customers with the additional confi dence that prices always are correct. At the same time, we see a sensible return on our investment.”
