The Kidz are all right
Children’s outdoor clothing brand Kozi Kidz believe they have found a niche market that hasn’t previously been exploited by the outdoor trade; functional outdoor clothing for kids.
T
he origins of the Kozi Kidz brand lay in the manufacturing of
functional yet fashionable outdoor clothing for kids ranging from 6 months to 10 years. Originally based in Sweden, the brand moved to the UK in 2009 and has since moved from strength to strength. At times when children are being encouraged to be more active both indoors and outdoors, Kozi Kidz have produced a range of products from baselayers to 100% waterproof top layers so children can enjoy playing whatever the weather. This provides an option for
retailers looking for products that will be profitable for them especially in time of economic crisis.
For Kozi Kidz Sales and Co-Managing Director Tomas Torstensson, the outdoor market has in the past remained static with the same brands being sold in the same shops. For Torstensson, the Kozi Kidz brand has seen a gap in the market and subsequent demand is high.
“We at Kozi Kidz believe we have a product range that is different to any other products currently on the market. The range is fun but practical designed for kids to play outdoors whilst keeping them warm and dry. In times of economic difficulty that we are currently experiencing, parents still don’t want their children to suffer and so are still determined to spend on good quality products.”
Kozi Kidz have been established in the UK market for only two and a half years and are now in 300 retail shops. This may however just be the
