ISPO: Preview

How is the show different to other domestic UK trade shows? This is the world’s biggest sports and outdoor event. Munich 2011 saw

80,000 visiting industry professionals from 106 countries. This is a historical increase of more than 25% compared to the prior year, and thus set a new visitor record.

This international flavour enables retailers to sample products from across the world rather than being limited to just domestic suppliers.

Has the economic uncertainty around the Euro Zone had any impact on the build-up to the show at all?

There has been no knock on effect at all. ISPO Munich is gaining better than ever momentum. The 2012 show is once again experiencing an increase in exhibitor registrations and the reserved exhibit space. Four months before ISPO Munich opens its doors the number of registered exhibitors had risen by 2.8% and the exhibit space increased by 3.2%.

What is ISPO on Snow? The ISPO’s test event will be held for the second time on the slopes of the Hintertux Glacier in Tirol, Austria and provides international retailers and members of the media with the opportunity to test the products exhibited at ISPO Munich under realistic conditions.

Beginning on 2 February 2012, immediately after the trade show, all interested parties are invited to demo the selection of winter sports products for 2013 during the three days of the test event.

Participation in the ISPO On Snow Demo offers a number of benefits: in addition to a direct comparison between the various products the event also offers the exchange of information and experiences on an international level and an opportunity to meet brand representatives in a casual atmosphere. Furthermore, participants can save valuable time by viewing many brands in one location. To date, companies such as Elan Ski, Falke, Hendryx Skis, Majesty, Rough Snowboards and Storm Skis have registered for the event
