What makes Autobag unique? EFFICIENCY

operations and reduces wastage. Positioning a PI 412c imprinter directly over the next bag to be loaded advances the desktop PS 125 and its bigger, faster stable mate the Autobag AB 180 into systems which print and index in a single- step, virtually eliminating bag waste. Automated Packaging Systems mail fulfilment specialist Martin Richards explains: “next-bag-out technology makes it easier to pack to order in individually addressed post bags.

I It’s also essential

for anyone packing bags that carry content-specific traceability data.” AutoTouch™ control screens provide easy access to job set-up with data recall, and the systems can be integrated with ERP and shipping software. Weidmüller’s TERMOPTO - Isolating solutions in terminal block format I

Compact

No bigger than two-tier terminal blocks, TERMOPTO modules have a design width of just six millimetres, which can reduce the space required in electrical cabinets by as much as 80 %. The modules have an enclosed housing with IP20 rating and reliably separate the input and output sides. To ensure universal application versatility they have ten different input signals (5…220 VDC, 24…230 VAC) and can optionally be supplied with an AC or DC output (5…48VDC / 0.1A; 5…48VDC / 0.5A; 24…230VAC / 0.1A). Pluggable, standard cross-connectors reduce ground and supply-voltage connection times. Customers are free to choose the connection technology with a choice between screw (clamping yoke) or PUSH IN technologies. PUSH IN reduces wiring times by up to 75%.

Status indicator

Suitable for deployment in ambient temperatures from -20° C to +60°C, the optocouplers are equipped with a green LED status indicator and accommodate standard WS12/6 MultiCard markers. International approvals such as CE, cULus are in preparation. Electrical signal separation requirements have been met to date using terminal blocks to connect signals and relay couplers for separating signals. With TERMOPTO (Terminal Sized Opto) Weidmüller is offer- ing users an interesting, maintenance-free and compact alternative. The reason is, TERMOPTO is a terminal block and coupler in a single module – offering electrical isolation in terminal block format.

Long lifetime (MTTF > 2500 years) Electrically isolated, wear-free semi-conductor switches (optocouplers) with extensive suppressor circuits guarantee high-levels of operating dependability – a guarantor for longevity and reliability.

Time-saving With TERMOPTO users are able to choose between PUSH IN and clamping yoke (screw) connection technologies. With impressively simple and safe handling characteristics PUSH IN reduces wiring times by up to 75%. Stripped of insulation the solid or finely stranded conductors with crimped-on ferrules are simply inserted into the terminal point. No tools are required to make the connection. To de-install a commercially available screwdriver is simply inserted as far as it will go into the opening provided. PUSH IN then releases the conductor, which can now be sim- ply withdrawn. Clamping yoke connections are known and trusted the world over. Their high contact force is a dis- tinguishing characteristic and they guarantee a gas-tight, vibration and jolt-proof connection. No matter if PUSH IN or clamping yoke is the connection technology of choice, standard pluggable cross-connectors ZQV 4N enable users to reduce ground and supply-voltage connection times by >50%.

nline printing and next-bag-out technology improves the speed and efficiency of print-n-pack

oyota Material Handling UK representatives, Operations Director Tony Wallis and Commercial Director Sam Coles joined CILT President Peter Hendy for the formal presentation of the company's membership plaque which took place on Thursday 6 October 2011. During the presentation, at the Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel Peter Hendy outlined the main aims of the CILT and the importance of its partnerships with members and the platform it supplies them with to share information. Like CILT, Toyota is dedicated to improvement and developing excellence both internally and within the industry, working to support training and presenting guides of best practice to encourage safer working environments. Sam Coles commented: "We were proud to be invited to an official presentation of our membership plaque. At Toyota we are dedicated to developing and sharing best practice in the industry especially when it comes to training and safety in the workplace. To be associated with the CILT is an honour and in complete alignment with our aims as a company." He added: "We look forward to sharing our knowledge with the other members of the CILT and working together to achieve excellence in the industry."

alluff has added a UHF solution for long ranges to its established range of durable RFID systems with inductive coupling (868-870 MHz) in the form of the industrial RFID system BIS-U. A frequency adapted version for operation outside of the EU in the USA (902-9287 MHz) is already in development. The new BIS-U RFID system with back scattering technology uses RFID labels as transponders as specified in the EPC Gen2 standard.

communication even in extremely dynamic applications. Ideal areas of application therefore include material handling technology and intralogistics, the automobile industry, automotive suppliers and any

applications where distances of up to 6 metres are required. At higher speeds in dynamic mode with BIS U, information on tags can usually be read both individually and in groups independently of their physical position thanks to circularly polarized antenna. The system is not only extremely easy to configure but is just as simple to integrate in higher level systems. Free transmission power selection guarantees convenient adaptation to any application.

n introducing its new TERMOPTO – Terminal Sized Optos – Weidmüller has broadened its assortment of products with a family of 60 optocouplers that features a compact design and a compelling price-performance ratio. TER- MOPTO modules offer a space-saving electronic alternative to conventional electro-mechanical relays for isolating and adapting signals.
