Marking a safety milestone Two million hours worked without an accident

W

hile sitting around camp I pondered about what I would write for this edition of your newsletter. Normally

my approach is to write about how you can do things to conserve energy, or write articles that explain legislation or rules and regulations that affect your coop.

premiums and fewer claims.

BY TERRY MATLOCK chief executive officer

This month I won’t talk about any of those issues. Nor will I talk about how good Kerrey’s cooking is (altough her pecan pie is terrific and she has mastered her Granny’s cornbread dressing). Nope, I’m not going to tell you about that. Instead, I want to tell you about the success of our employees.

A few weeks ago we celebrated our two millionth hour worked without a lost time accident. What an accomplishment! That accomplishment not only makes for a safe work environment but also means cost savings to you in lower

A QUICK LOOKat fuel prices

We celebrated this milestone with an awards banquet for the employees. They say that safety starts at the top, I can say with certainty that your Choctaw Electric board of trustees has been a leader in our effort to promote a successful safety and loss control program.

Thanks to our board for their support, and most of all, a huge thank you to all of our employees for being cognizant of

the value of our safety goal and for setting the standard and achieving excellence.

The next time you see a Choctaw Electric employee, please let them know you appreciate their dedication and commitment to meeting the standard.

Merry Christmas and I hope 2012 brings all that you hope for!
