WCA partners with Etihad on booking IN BRIEF
QANTAS AND AIRBUS have agreed a deal for 110 A320 Family aircraft. The order for 78 A320neo and 32 A320 aircraft represents the largest single aviation order in Australia’s history as measured by units. The aircraft are to fly on both domestic and international routes, Qantas confirmed.
AMSTERDAM AIRPORT Schiphol handled 126,824 tonnes of freight in August, down by 3.1 percent on the same month of 2010. The January - August throughput volume of 1,010,488 tonnes was up by 3.4 percent year-on-year.
BOEING is forecasting that North American airlines will take delivery of 7,530 new aircraft over the next 20 years. With a market value of US$760 billion, most will be narrowbodies, with about 1,180 new twin-aisle aircraft required and only about 50 aircraft of B747 size or larger.
THAI AIRWAYS has added three times a week B777-200ER services between Bangkok and Brussels in its winter schedule, which began on 30 October. Also on the schedule are three times a week B747-400 services to Copenhagen as well as A330-300 flights to Phuket and Incheon.
ETIHAD CRYSTALCargo is to be the first cargo carrier to act as a vendor within the WCA Family of Logistic Networks, the rapidly growing network of cargo agents announced recently at the 8th Sino-International Freight Forwarders Conference in Shanghai. The memorandum of
understanding (MoU) signed between the Abu Dhabi-based freight carrier and WCA Family – the first of its kind between an airline and a forwarder network – will allow members of the latter to access Etihad Crystal Cargo’s global connections to 84 destinations. David Yokeum, president of WCA Family,

you are already trading with Etihad, it’s business as usual. “However, if you need access to more
choice for your air freight, this unique initiative allows you to begin transactions with Etihad quickly, founded on the strength of the Etihad relationship with WCA Family,” he concluded.
DHL expands logistics presence in China market
DHL GLOBAL Forwarding has opened five branch offices in China – in Zhengzhou, Taiyuan, Wenzhou, Xuzhou and Huizhou. DHL said that the new
offices would better meet the growing demand for international-quality logistics services it is seeing in western and central China. The freight forwarding
operation of the logistics giant noted that the openings are “timely”, given the major geographical shift of the country’s manufacturing capacity away from China’s coastal areas into central and western parts of the country. “Looking beyond Beijing and Shanghai and tapping into China’s existing infrastructure in these inland
